AP Mainsail (D-2)

The D-2 is now our All purpose mainsail for sailors over 98 kilos, manufactured from either EO4 1 MIL KEVLAR® for Medium / Heavy winds or AK-O3 0.75 MIL KEVLAR® for Light Winds (know as the D2-L).

The D-2 Mainsail is built to the same design shape as the HM-1R and LD-1 which won both Gold and Silver at the 2000 Olympic Games.

The D-2 is the sail used By Rafa Trujillo and Andrew Simpson to take Silver and Bronze at the 2003 Worlds.

The sail comes complete with class insignia, sail numbers, sail battens, windows, tell tales, Class Label, Sail Measurement and sail bag.

AP Mainsail (HV-2)

The HV-2 Mainsail is designed for the lighter Finn sailor. It is the choice sail of Double world champion Ben Ainslie. It is also used by many top heavy sailors for srong winds.

It is designed 1% flatter all over than the D-2, Built with a radial head construction help keeps the draft position forward.

As the D-2 model the HV-2 is manufactured from Dimensions E04 1MIL KEVLAR® for Medium / Heavy winds and AK-O3 0.75 MIL KEVLAR® for Light winds (also known as HV-2L)

The sail comes complete with class insignia, sail numbers, sail battens, windows, tell tales, Class Label, Sail Measurement and sail bag.

Light winds - Flat Water (KM-05)

The KM-05 was designed for the 2005 Gold Cup in Moscow, Manufactured from Polyester the sail is designed 1% flatter than the HV-2, This gives a very flat sail Ideal for pointing on flat water such as lake sailing.

Finn Mastbend Measurement

Support the mast with the tip at a height which will allow the tip of the mast not to hit the ground when the weight is placed on it. Fix in place at the butt to allow to rest on the collar as it holds by the mast step and deck of the boat. Mark the point A. See picture above.

Place the weight (10kg Sideways / Fore & Aft) on the tip of the mast at the measurement band. Mark the point B for sideways and fore&aft.

Take a taught string from the top of the bottom measurement band (D) to the bottom of the top one (C).

Measure the distance in millimeters between the string and the mast (Sideways and Fore&Aft) in every 1/4 of the distance CD.

The maximum mast bend for this sail is 108mm with 10kg and 130mm with 12kg.
